You are precious. You are a gift.
Believing in your own worth can transform your life. Furthermore, accepting this truth not only changes you but also impacts those around you. Living with the understanding that you are invaluable and unique means there’s no longer anything to prove. Recognizing your own value allows you to approach life with generosity, and it liberates you to share your gifts with others.
Having nothing to prove eliminates the impulse to compare ourselves to others. However, many people grapple with internalizing this sense of worth. Even I find it challenging at times. The insidious thought that I might be “less than” someone else often starts subtly, creeping up when least expected. One might be confidently navigating through life, and then a setback occurs, giving rise to negative self-talk. Intriguingly, neuroscience has shown that our brains tend to latch onto negative thoughts more readily than positive ones.
Whether positive or negative, thoughts naturally emerge. Yet, with mindfulness and practice, we can learn to release them, choosing which ones define us.
