On the eleventh day Of Christmas, I received an unexpected gift: a deep sense of peace. I tried to express it in poetry and so here it is:
Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All
The hosts of heaven do declare
A peace for all who listen there.
Yet in our world, so rife with strife,
It’s hard to dream this peaceful life.
But peace, it shares another name,
A wholeness, calling us to claim.
It beckons us to understand,
To grasp its truth with open hand.
For wholeness dwells in every heart,
In connections where peace starts.
In every moment, small and bright,
In presence, we find our light.
In the rustle of the leaves,
In the quiet, calm reprieves,
In laughter, love, in joyous bonds,
Peace finds its voice and responds.
It whispers in the morning dew,
In every color, every hue,
In acts of kindness, large or small,
It’s there in goodwill to all.
So let us seek this peace within,
A journey that we all begin.
In every step, in every choice,
Let’s listen to that inner voice.
For peace on Earth begins with one,
A journey under the same sun.
In each of us, the seed is sown,
For in our hearts, peace finds its home.
