Hello, beloved. Welcome to another opportunity for us to reflect together. It’s me, James, here to share some thoughts and invite you into a moment of calm and clarity.
Take A Breath
Let’s start with a breath. Take a couple of deep, cleansing breaths. Inhale deeply and exhale intentionally, letting go of tension and stress. Neuroscience tells us this simple act can help reset our nervous systems. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the world, this is a good place to begin.
Discovering and Discerning Your Purpose
Over the course of our time together, we’ve often explored the question: What is yours to do? When you look around and see the challenges of the world, what feels like your unique contribution? If you were in a coaching session with me, I’d guide you through a process to identify this. First, write down a clear sentence: “This is what is mine to do.” Reflect on it. Does it resonate? If you’re a spiritual person, you might want to sit with it in meditation or prayer.
Taking Practical Steps
Next, list three practical steps you can take that align with your purpose. Choose one—preferably something achievable and measurable—and take that first step. It’s easy to feel powerless when confronted by the enormity of the world’s challenges. But remember: you have the power to act. One small step can make a difference.
You are infinitely precious and unconditionally loved. You are a gift to this world, simply by being you. Your presence, your abilities, and your way of being change the fabric of the world around you. Small steps matter. They build momentum and can lead to unforeseen opportunities. Sometimes, even the act of listening—truly listening—to someone else can be transformative. It may feel small, but it’s significant.
Staying Grounded in the Moment
Let’s be honest: It’s easy to get ahead of ourselves. We’re eager to make a big impact, to create change, to do something extraordinary. But just as a wide receiver in football needs to focus on catching the ball before planning their next move, we must focus on the immediate step before us. Otherwise, we risk missing the moment.
The world may tempt us to react impulsively to fear, uncertainty, or chaos. Instead, I encourage you to step back. Take a breath. Reflect on what is yours to do. If something stirs frustration or anger in you, ask yourself: Does this align with my purpose? How does this fit with what is mine to do? This clarity will shape your response.
It’s okay to feel the pull of frustration. I’ve been there too. But reacting out of anger often doesn’t align with our deeper calling. For me, part of my purpose is to love courageously, to see each person as infinitely precious and unconditionally loved. When I’m tempted to react negatively, I remind myself of this. It’s a grounding practice that helps me respond with integrity.
What about you? What is yours to do? Write it down. Reflect on it. Then act. Choose a step—just one small step—and take it. Courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to act despite it. Even the smallest ripple of action can have a profound impact, touching lives in ways you may never know.
Instead of venting frustration through complaints, channel that energy into purpose. If something angers or unsettles you, ask: How does this connect to what is mine to do? Let it guide you toward constructive action. This mindful approach not only helps you stay focused but also aligns your actions with your deeper values.
One Step at a Time
Remember, life unfolds one step at a time. Each step, no matter how small, is meaningful. Take the next step with courage and intention. Trust that you are here for a reason. You have a role to play, and your contribution matters.
Catch your breath. You are infinitely precious and unconditionally loved. You are a gift to this world, and your life is a gift to be cherished and shared. Until next time, I wish you all the best in this one beautiful life you’ve been given. Take care.
