A Creed for Those Who Are Sent

We believe in God,
whose love is deeper than pity
and stronger than fear,
whose compassion rises like a mother’s love
for all creation.

We believe in Jesus Christ,
who saw the forgotten,
welcomed the wandering,
healed the hurting,
and reminded people
that they were already beloved.

We believe that no person is beyond God’s care,
no life beyond God’s concern,
and no place beyond God’s presence.

We believe the harvest is plentiful:
there are hearts longing for hope,
homes longing for safety,
communities longing for connection,
and people longing to remember
how precious they are.

We believe the Spirit sends us
wherever we live, work, learn, shop, serve, and rest.

We are not sent to save the world by ourselves,
but to bear witness to the Love
that is already at work within it.

We will seek to love with all our hearts,
all our minds,
all our strength,
and all our guts.

We will build relationships,
offer kindness,
practice compassion,
and embody hope.

For we are God’s beloved,
and we are God’s sent people.
