Are you missing out on the simple gifts that come your way, perhaps while expecting something ‘monumental’?
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my True Love gifted me an awakening. During each day of the Christmas season, I prepared myself, vigilant in anticipating a gift. However, I realized that numerous small gifts come my way every day! By writing about the gifts each day brought, I became more aware, more receptive to the gifts each day offers. Throughout the season, I was alert, listening, observing, and feeling for the gifts life might offer. I was not disappointed; the little things I might have otherwise overlooked transformed into gifts of the moment. This experience helped me realize how many gifts I overlook daily.
Reflecting at the end of each day on what I received was like enjoying a banquet of tasty morsels. It made me appreciate everything more profoundly. From the subtle smile of a passerby to the aha-moments in my journal reflections, life felt like a cornucopia of gifts. Ordinary things like breathing, my heartbeat, and the sound of rain became gifts in my life.
These have always been gifts, sometimes recognized, often missed. What a joy to look into each day, each moment, with the certainty that it would hold some gift. It makes me wonder how much I miss in life.
I wonder if you might experience the same. I invite you to try this experiment for the next few days, perhaps a week, and look with expectancy for the little moments that come your way. I encourage you to share your experiences here, with a friend, or wherever you wish.

Merci
